Charter Oak Winery - Petite Sirah 2007 - Napa Valley, California, USA

PRICE:
$59.95 CDN

RATING / SCORE:
75 /100

COLOUR / APPEARANCE:
Cherry red.

NOSE / AROMA:
Alcohol very evident, fresh, and neutral.

MOUTH / FLAVOURS:
Dry, medium body. Raspberry quality developed after opening in the glass; a powerful sweetness and distinctive California aroma.

FINISH:
The finish was dry with an inviting taste that enticed us for more.

CONCLUSION / IMPRESSION:
Young, well balanced wine with a neutral bouquet. Fresh, yet fruity, with a distinctive sweet aspect. The wine has not developed the characteristics of a mature wine; yet, there is a depth to the wine that indicates the potential to develop character in the years to come.

RECOMMENDATIONS / FOOD PARINGS:
At sixty dollars we feel the wine lacks the qualities that warrants the price. This wine is a good choice for anyone who is looking for an easy drinking wine. As well, we feel a few years in the cellar will allow for character development.
